The tiny device which was merely used for making and receiving calls has made its way to a variety of arenas and has excelled and stood out differently from the rest of the lot. Thanks to Texas Instruments, the tiny mobile phone will soon be able to multi-function as a projector as well.
Named as Pico projectors, the technology will add in a delightful feature to the intelligent mobile phone. With this new technology we can now expect our mobile phones to display our favorite snaps and movies on larger borders.
John Van Scoter, the senior vice president of Texas Instruments (TI) has assured that the projectors in mobile phones are coming later this year, when he was addressing in Taipei at a TI forum on May 14th.
The Pico’s DLP (Digital Light Processing) Pico chipset was already introduced by Texas Instruments in the month of February and it includes an imaging chip and a processor unit which will fit on the mobile phones with ease. This piece of invention is expected to reach mobile phones by the second half of this year and will surely change the way we look at mobile phones.
