After contemplating on the BlackBerry Flip-Phone ‘KickStart’, RIM returns back to the rumor mill with the unveiling of the BlackBerry Thunder which is expected to be a touchscreen phone in the making.
Expected to arrive in the third quarter of this year, the Thunder competes with the most coveted handset of the world – the iPhone. With no slide QWERTY keyboard or any additions, the BlackBerry Thunder features as a complete touch-screen device. The phone will be provided only 4 essential buttons which is the BlackBerry menu key, back/return key and the receiving and ending the call keys.
RIM has taken the competition seriously by manufacturing the BlackBerry Thunder as similar as the iPhone. The phone is expected to be a hybrid device with CDMA EV-DO Rev. C and GSM HSPA technology which will enhance the mobile usage whilst overseas.
The BlackBerry Thunder Phone currently gets the model number 9500, however there is a likely chance of a name change. Whether a rumor or the truth, there is no clarity on that but if this grapevine turns to be true, but BlackBerry can be proud of venturing into unexplored grounds and bringing a revolution in technology.
