HTC Touch Diamond Phone announced

After quite a few speculations, HTC has finally announced to unveil its new flagship phone “Touch Diamond”. The new phone is said to be a combination of style and technology. It features a new captivating 3D touch interface called TouchFLO 3D and faster internet connectivity.
The TouchFLO 3D offers animated access to people, messaging, email, photos, music, weather and more. A new innovative touch-sensitive control for interacting via a phone is introduced through Touch Diamond.
The Touch Diamond allows users to access the internet with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA wireless connectivity, providing broadband-like speed. Also, the Touch Diamond phone is equipped with a new customized mobile web browser enabling easy viewing of the website. Effortless navigation is achieved through the zoom and pan functions of the browser, claims HTC.
The HTC Touch Diamond being an iPhone competitor, features many iPhone-like features. Turning the device sideways automatically rotates the web page view from a portrait to landscape view is one of them.
“Today we mark a new era in mobile phone evolution, an era where beauty and size integrate with uncompromising innovation at broadband speeds,” said Peter Chou, president and CEO, HTC. “The HTC Touch Diamond will make browsing the Web and using Web-enabled applications just as practical and easy to use as making calls.”
The 2.8 touchscreen display, built-in 3.2MP camera with video calling, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS, 4 GB Internal Storage, Bluetooth 256 MB flash, 192 MB RAM and GPS are some of the key features of the HTC Touch Diamond.
The HTC Touch Diamond is expected to be available across Europe in June 2008. Later it will be available for Asia, Middle East, North American and Latin America customers.
