BlackBerry Bold enters US via AT&T

The long wait for Americans has ended as the BlackBerry Bold has gone on sale in the country.

AT&T BlackBerry Bold Research In Motion’s BlackBerry Bold will be offered in US via AT&T’s network for a price of $299.99 across AT&T retail stores, select national retailers and via the carrier’s official site www.att.com.

AT&T is also providing voice plans that start at $39.99 per month and unlimited corporate e-mail and data access via BlackBerry Enterprise Server or BlackBerry Professional Software for $45 a month.

Along with a 3G networking capability, BlackBerry Bold will be accompanied by lots of offerings from AT&T which includes free AT&T Wi-Fi, AT&T Navigator, CV (Cellular Video), Yellowpages.com Mobile and selections from AT&T Mobile Music service — the XM Radio Mobile and MusicID. Also AT&T allows contents to the smartphone from its AT&T MEdia Mall and third-party sites.

Plus it brings along applications like eBay, Wikimobile and SpamFilter right into the phone, games like Scrabble, NCAA Football 09, World Series of Poker Pro Challenge, Tetris, Bejeweled and Tiger Woods 09; full track songs from Napster Mobile and loads of ringtones.

The MEdia Mall content and third party applications include the ones covering health care, financial services, field service, sales, customer relationship management and public safety/ government; then there are the ones from Antenna Software, DataViz Inc., Diversinet, Igea Care, Pyxis Mobile, Salesforce.com, TeleNav, Inc., Vaultus and Xora.Inc.

Also adding upto to the long list of applications is news and information service – Pocket Express from Handmark and access to social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace and JuiceCaster.

These being all the good stuff brought by AT&T, what BlackBerry Bold, the device has to offer is:

  • Messaging solutions provided by BlackBerry Enterprise Server, IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Novel GroupWise environments and BlackBerry Professional Software for small businesses
  • Additionally there is the BalckBerry Internet Service for push-based access to 10 supported work or personal e-mail accounts.

    The BlackBerry Bold smartphone is provided by the carrier with a two-year contract, mail-in rebate and aforementioned voice and data plans.
