YouTube on Apple's iPhone

As June 29 draws nearer, everyday seems to be a day dedicated to the Apple iPhone. Without doubt, the iPhone is the most talked about device. Just a few days ago, Apple revealed that its most-anticipated product would have a longer battery life and a scratch-resistant surface.

Now, the company has officially announced that iPhone users will be able to watch YouTube video content on the touch-screen phone’s stunning 3.5-inch display.

How will this happen? Well a new Apple-designed application that will be pre-loaded on the iPhone will wirelessly stream YouTube’s videos on to the phone via Wi-Fi or EDGE networks.

According to Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, “iPhone delivers the best YouTube mobile experience by far.

YouTube has begun encoding their videos in the advanced H.264 format to achieve a higher video quality and a longer battery life on mobile devices. iPhone will be the first mobile device to use this new format.

Besides, Apple also announced that YouTube has now gone live on Apple TV. Users are able to download the free software update using Apple TV’s built-in software update feature, after which they can navigate through YouTube’s video browsing categories.

Furthermore, YouTube members are also able to log-in to their YouTube accounts on Apple TV to view and save their favorite videos.

“Now users can enjoy YouTube wherever they are-on their iPhone, on their Mac or on a widescreen TV in their living room with Apple TV,” Gates said.

However, there’s still no word on a 160GB hard drive for Apple TV.
