Yahoo Inc. has finally expanded the reach of its already popular and newly released Yahoo! oneSearch service to the Mobile Web in the US. Basically, Yahoo! oneSearch reinvents the concept of ‘search’ and thus gives users exactly what they are looking for, directly on to their mobile devices.

According to Marco Boerries, senior vice president of connected life, Yahoo!, “Yahoo! oneSearch has already started to change the mobile search game by fundamentally improving the way consumers’ access and use the Internet on their mobile phones. Consumers that have tried oneSearch love it, telling us it’s easier and more helpful than any other mobile search services they’ve used. We are delivering the results consumers want with just one search, not a list of Web links.”

In fact, Yahoo! oneSearch for mobile phones has been designed in such a way that it really tends ease and quicken the process of finding information. Users receive relevant results such as news headlines, images, and business listings directly on their phones.

For instance, if a consumer wishes to go for a movie over the weekend, he or she would just need to type the name of the movie into the search box. The search results would first list the movie, including a user rating, local theatres where the movie is showing, and news headlines related to the movie.

Besides, Yahoo! oneSearch on Yahoo!’s Mobile Web site features sponsored search results and even displays advertisements. This has further extended Yahoo!’s advertising services to the mobile environment, and has also enabled advertisers to reach consumers on their mobile devices across major mobile operators.

Yahoo! has plans to introduce Yahoo! oneSearch in additional countries and language versions over the next few months.
