Google AdSense on Mobile Phones Online search giant Google has announced its plans to expand the volume of advertising it delivers to mobile phones with the inclusion of its ‘pay-per-click’ ad program. In fact, just a week ago, Google had said that it would open its AdWords system to mobile users, and still earlier the company invited mobile web publishers for testing mobile adsense.

Basically, any Web site which is accessible via a mobile Web browser will be able to participate in Google’s advertising network.

This year, Google had been testing this system with a limited number of advertisers and publishers. But now the company will open it up to all mobile publishers in around 13 countries including the US, Britain, China, France and India.

As part of its mobile AdSense program, Google will tie up mobile ads to a wide range of content being scanned by cell phone or portable device users. For instance, someone reading about a cricket or football match on a mobile phone might see an ad for sports equipment.

Now, if the consumer clicks on this ad, the advertiser pays Google a fee that is shared with the publishers of the mobile Web page.

The move is expected to give AdSense members a significant boost, as they’ll now be able to realize revenue when a mobile user clicks on their ad, which will consist mainly of text.

The text ads will use the same auction model as the websites do; the ad messages will be aligned with the site’s content in mind and is intended to deliver an ad that’s designed to fit the interests associated with its users.

Interestingly, most of Google’s advertising revenue comes through online searches and Web pages viewed on PCs connected to the Internet. In fact, the company’s ad revenue is expected to exceed $15 billion this year.

Also, some time ago, there was speculation and rumors galore of a Google mobile phone.

Thus, with the integration of its hugely successful AdWord program on mobile phones, Google is sure to reap in the big ones!
