60% of UK Women Can’t Live without their Mobile Phones and use them for Making Calls and Texting, says Research

Women with their Mobile Phones If you are more attached to your mobile phone than your husband, then trust me you are not just one of the kind. According to a research conducted, as many as 60% of women in the UK claim to be totally inseparable from their mobile phones. Ironically, in spite of their feature-rich mobile phones, these 60% of women mainly use their devices simply for making calls and sending text messages.

Carried out on behalf of six of the UK’s major mobile applications companies, the research has revealed that in spite of the surfacing of an entire range of content and services on the mobile phone platform, they prefer using their phones for the most basic functions. As against women, men usually end up using their mobile phones to listen to music and browse the web. While as much as 47 percent of men use their phones to surf the internet, only 33% of women use their devices to do so.

Six leading organizations have developed six mobile applications created to make life better and more exciting for women.

Mills and Boon/ICUE; Lastminute.com/Cool Gorilla; LocatioNet; The Light Agency; Pocket Group and Singtones are the big names involved in the initiative.

Lifestyle Applications for the Mobile Phone:
