McAfee Inc. has just released a new modular three-prong approach to enable mobile operators to face the increasing threats posed by malicious and abusive content. Called McAfee Mobile Security Risk Management, the new solution helps mobile operators create a secure framework on which they can build future services.

McAfee Mobile Security Risk Management is basically a comprehensive approach to mobile security, and will surely enable mobile operators to understand security risks to their business, as well as protect and give peace of mind to customers, and all this will help avoid a negative impact on their brand and business from malicious attacks.

According to McAfee, Mobile environment has increasingly become a target for malicious attacks. In fact, the software company has also noticed a shift from mere vandalism to a much more sophisticated, social engineered ‘for-profit’ malware. For instance, in the year 2006 itself, the both SMiShing (phishing via SMS) and spyware (MobiSpy) in the mobile domain emerged. Mobile Network Operators’s businesses have thus been affected due to threats being used in widely used services such as text messaging and phone features like Java.

McAfee Mobile RECOVER solutions proactively prepare mobile service providers for a potential outbreak and ensure that, in the event of a malicious attack, operators are able to remotely clean devices and restore customer services as quickly as possible.
