Nokia, Basketball Federation team up to offer FIBA Mobile Service to Fans
Yesterday, Nokia and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) announced that they have joined hands to create mobile services for FIBA, FIBA Europe and for some of the most important basketball championship events scheduled to take place in 2007.
The new Nokia mobile FIBA service will provide the latest updates, scores, news, schedules and interviews to basketball enthusiasts whenever and wherever they want it.
Accessing the FIBA mobile service is easy and can be done through any mobile device that has access to the Internet.
Also, the new FIBA mobile content will be accessible via Nokia Video Center that is currently available on the Nokia N95 handset. This makes the new offering a very comprehensive and user friendly mobile video experience.
“We are delighted to partner up with the world leader not just in mobile device hardware, but also the leader in developing the opportunities that mobile technology offers. We are particularly amazed by the video quality the new Nokia devices offer. The Nokia N93i is an ideal tool for our basketball reporters to, for instance, record video interviews with players and coaches,” said FIBA Commercial Director Matthew Osmon.
Also, under the agreement, Nokia will be providing FIBA reporters worldwide with Nokia N93i mobile phones so that they can record high quality video, photo and audio content. This content will then be made available on the FIBA mobile Web sites.
