Warner Music logo The Nokia Music Store website no longer includes music content from Warner. Apparently Warner was skeptical about file-sharing of copyrighted content on Nokia’s Mosh, which is another website through which users can share content.

On the other hand, competitors such as Universal, Sony BMG and EMI, have given the nod to permit their music to be available on the website.

This entire issue seems a little paradoxical, especially keeping in mind that Warner usually had quite a chilled out attitude towards file-sharing and digital formats. In fact, it was amongst the first few labels to sell non-protected music over iTunes, enabling the service to be copied on to other platforms. In addition, it was also the first immensely popular label to get into a deal with YouTube, allowing the video-sharing site to distribute music videos and interviews.

This new move from Warner Music would come as quite to the Finnish mobile giant, who is trying to venture into the download arena through its Ovi platform that incorporated a service to rival iTunes.

However, according to Wall Street Journal, the main reason behind this refusal is that they believe that Nokia’s Mosh service is being used for online piracy by its members.

Till November 2nd afternoon, Mosh featured digital versions of various copyrighted books, including JK Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Audio clips from songs from all the major labels could also be found on the site, including tracks by Green Day and Linkin Park; Universal Music Group’s Rihanna and 50 Cent; Sony BMG Music Entertainment’s Britney Spears; and EMI Group PLC’s Robbie Williams.

Well, the best always needn’t get the best!
