Sony today announced the new Walkman Video MP3 player NW-A800 series in Europe. The Sony Walkman Video MP3 player features a color-rich 2” QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) color TFT LCD screen.

Sony Walkman Video MP3 player allows you to watch videos on the screen both horizontally and vertically to further enhance the entertainment experience. Video content can be downloaded with ease using a simple drag and drop mechanism. Walkman Video MP3 player supports MPEG-4 and high quality codec of AVC (H.264/AVC) Baseline profile formats, at up to 30 frames per second. It also allows file conversions via the supplied ImageConverter software.

Sony NW-A800 player packs the newly developed DSEE technology which restores the high frequency ranges lost due to compression. The Sony NW-A800 player also has three in-built Clear Audio Technologies – Clear Stereo, Clear Bass and Sony unique Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE). The Sony Video MP3 player comes with 13.5 mm EX headphones.

The Sony Walkman Video MP3 player has lithium-ion rechargeable battery which has extended battery stamina enabling 30 hours* continuous music playback or 8 hours** continuous video playback.

The Sony Walkman Video MP3 player has a slick menu selection system for quick navigation while on the move. You can also search for your favorite tunes by artist, album title or song title easily or use the intelligent shuffle to create bespoke play lists. Other features include jpeg image storage/viewing/slideshow functions to showcase your best snapshots as well as a host of music sound effects (heavy, pop, jazz, unique and custom settings) to choose from.

Sony NW-A800 player The Sony NW-A800 Video MP3 player is compatible with SonicStage CP software allowing music management and transfer of your favorite tracks. The Walkman Video MP3 player is available in three memory sizes; 2GB, 4GB and 8GB and there are four color options; violet, black, white and pink. Sony has also made available a range of stylish cases for the new Sony NW-A800 player. Like the clear polycarbonate CKH-NWA800 which works to protect the Walkman and its wide screen against scratches, damages and dust whilst providing easy access to control buttons, WM-PORT, strap-hole and headphone jack.

The Sony Walkman Video MP3 player is complemented by a range of accessories like the car connecting cable (DCC-NWC1) which plugs directly in the cigarette lighter to charge the NW-A800 and has a stereo mini jack for music play back directly through the car radio (via optional FM transmitter or AUX cable), a A2DP Stereo Bluetooth transmitter (WLA-NWB1) which provides a wireless music solution for those with Stereo Bluetooth enabled Audio devices such as headphones, portable speakers or in car entertainment, a the BCR-NWA800 Stand for automatic PC data synchronization and charging (through the PC) where as the compact and stylish cradle audio (CPF-NW001) releases music through powerful 25W speakers and subwoofer for crystal clear quality.

The Sony NW-A800 Walkman Video MP3 Player will initially be available throughout Europe from April 2007 and is currently available to pre-order at Sony Style Europe.
