Nokia has announced that two of its phones namely the Nokia 8800 and Nokia N70 have been awarded at the Red Dot design Awards and the Annual Mobile Entertainment Awards, the Meffy’s in London respectively.
Nokia’s 8800 mobile phones has won the “best of the best” prize at the red dot design awards for its innovative, high quality design as well as for its smooth deskstand. Besides, the Nokia 8800 is the first phone to use stainless steel and mineral glass in its sleek and sculpted body. It also features a screen which uses more than 2,60,000 colors, thus giving the display a striking clarity. The Nokia 8800 also has ring tones created by Ryuichi Sakamoto, one of the world’s leading composers.
At the Red dot Design awards, out of the 2068 products that were submitted only 36 received the best of the best award for the best design in their category. Award winners were honored in a gala in Essen, Germany. The winning products will be showcased in a special exhibition that is held from June 27 to July 23 2006 in the Red Dot Design museum in Essen.
Nokia’s N70 has been awarded ‘Best Mobile Entertainment Handset’ at the annual Mobile Entertainment Awards called the Meffy’s in London. The meffys are the industry’s official benchmark for measuring success and rewarding innovations in mobile entertainment. The Nokia N70 comes with a range of smartphone features which include web browsing and email. Besides users can take high quality photos with its 2MP camera, stream video over 3G and listen to music on the integrated digital music player.
With the range of brilliant features offered in the Nokia 8800 and N70, its no surprise that Nokia bagged awards for these innovative phones at the red dot design awards and the Meffys.
