Luxury mobile phones maker Vertu is all set to expands its operations in India.

The Vertu range includes mobile phones with casing that comes in 18 carat white or yellow gold. Vertu will position its luxury mobile phones as lifestyle products targeted at a select audience looking for a combo of class and functionality.

Vice president at Vertu, Giles said, “Indians welcome luxury products, and India has a long-standing tradition of appreciating and using such products.

Vertu mobile phones are engineered to the finest standards and are billed as being works of art rather than communication devices.

Vertu users will also have access to the worldwide Vertu Concierge service, which provides users with expert information on travel and entertainment at the push of a dedicated key, located on the phone’s side.

Vertu is planning to sell its handsets in Bangalore, Calcutta, Chandigarh and Chennai by the end of the year.

Vertu Signature and Vertu Ascent mobile phone will be made available in India. Prices range from around $6,000 to $26,000 and come in yellow or white gold versions.
