Nokia's Visual Radio

‘Visual Radio’, an enterprise by HP and Nokia is going to change the way you listen to radio. A novel concept, ‘Visual Radio’ is soon going to hit India, thereby redefining the concept of a radio to most of us.

For those who are not aware of what does ‘visual radio’ refer to, here’s your dose of trivia. Visual Radio is a techology developed by Nokia for making easier for audiences to interact with radio programs. Visual Radio is built-in functionality available in an increasing number of phones that are already equipped with analog FM radio (notably the N-series, 3230, 3250, 7710, 6230i, 6270, 6280, 7370). The interactive visual channel is produced by the radio station. It offers several opportunities for interactivity in radio programming: quizzes, messaging, content download, commerce, etc.

According to Dilip Phadke, director of business relations and development, corporate and global accounts at HP, who is handling this project, the service is set to be released in the coming three months in India and they already have tie-ups with the No.1 radio channel in Delhi and Mumbai, while the deal with the operators is being negotiated.
