Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition, the Exclusive Nature Inspired Handset unveiled
Nokia has launched its latest handset, which has sought its inspiration for its design, sound and texture from the various forces and elements present in nature. Dubbed ‘Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition,’ the handset is offered with signature features like the handset shape which “perfectly matches the human hand” and a soundtrack composed by Brian Eno, who is regarded as the “father of ambient music.” The Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition truly is unique, created
out of the inherent beauty and chaos of nature and distilled into a modern form that is graceful, sympathetic and spare.
The Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition has been named after the powerful desert-born wind from Sahara, having stainless steel polished surfaces and a scratch-resistant glass display window. The edition comprises of two options - light and dark, the light inspired by the hot, dry air mass and the dark by the cooler, humid one. The edition is packed with features like a sapphire coated 2, 62,000 color display, a slide mechanism to reveal a 2 mega-pixel camera, extended battery life, an ergonomic keypad and even a jewel-like navigation key.
The Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition is now available in select markets, with an estimated retail price of EUR 1000, before taxes or subsidies.
