Nokia N90 Multimedia Phone Now Lands In The U.S.

Nokia has started the distribution of Nokia N90 Multimedia phone in the U.S Claiming to alter the mobile photography market, the device features Carl Zeiss optics and a range of advanced camera functions apart from its spectacular quality video.

The Nokia N90 will be on hand in November at select Ritz Camera stores and online at ritzcamera.com for an estimated retail price of $399 with activation. The Nokia N90 will also be available in December at CompUSA retail locations and through the Neiman Marcus holiday catalog.

David Watkins, Director, Imaging Business for Nokia North America said, “Response to the N90 has been overwhelming. He further added, “Photographers, filmmakers and people around the globe have created remarkable results with the device, while enjoying all the benefits of staying connected to work and to life.”

To its attributes, The Nokia N90 has been named American Photo’s Editor’s Choice for “Breakthrough” product this year and has received a “Best of What’s New” 2005 award from Popular Science magazine. The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) voted the N90 “European Media Phone of the Year 2005-6.

The company had collaborated with five of the world’s best photographers in October to announce the ‘See New’ competition, a mobile photography competition. To inspire people to enter, these professional photographers have themselves been shooting using the Nokia N90, producing more than 60 brand new images. The Nokia XpressPrint solution facilitates Nokia N90 users with a number of printing options. When printing via PictBridge, the handset is connected directly to a compatible printer with a USB cable. The Nokia XpressPrint solution allows for wireless printing over Bluetooth wireless technology. Also the MultiMediaCard (RS-MMC) can be extracted from the side of the phone and inserted into a compatible printer.

Photos and video clips taken with the Nokia N90 can be stored on the PC using the Nokia PC Suite Image Store, which, when connected, automatically saves images and video clips to the PC.
