T-Mobile Goes In For Siemens’ Music2You As A Perfect Preffered Solution
Siemens has signed an agreement with T-Mobile International for its music technology for mobile handsets. Through this agreement, Siemens Music2You will become the chosen solution for all T-Mobile units throughout the globe.
Music2you initially allows the titles to be previewed and then the titles can be purchased and downloaded full length over the mobile network. The purchased tracks can be downloaded too at home via a PC and then be burned to a CD or probably be played on any customary WMA/MP3 player. The minimum requirement for mobile music downloads is an end-user device that features an AAC+ player and sufficient memory. Apart from that the device also needs to support the Digital Rights Management (DRM) standard, which secures music files against unauthorized copying.
T-Mobile’s Mobile Jukebox offers music downloads over both wireless and wireline networks. The choice of the music collections comprises of hundreds of thousands of titles from a variety of major labels. The cost of the downloads is charged to the user’s wireless telephony bill.
Giulio Panzera, the Music2You Project Leader at Siemens Switzerland said, “Music downloads are one of the most interesting applications for GPRS, EDGE and W-CDMA networks, as they allow full the necessary download speeds. The market for digital music is going to expand and the requirements placed upon the mobile networks will continue to rise. We are proud that T-Mobile, one of the world’s leading mobile communication providers, has chosen to partner with us in implementing its music download service.
