The Gigabyte U2442N and U2442V Ultrabooks have made their debut at the CeBIT 2012 in Hannover, Germany. Along with these laptops, the company has also unveiled the S1081 tablet as well as the D1080 multimedia docking station for it.
The U2442N and U2442V Ultrabooks are two of the latest gadgets that further expand the company’s notebook range. Endowed with 14-inch screens, both these models are pretty identical to each other. They measure 18.5mm – 20.5mm thick and weigh a minimum of 1.49kg. The U2442N has been embedded with a 3rd generation Intel Core i5/i7 standard voltage processor, while an i5/i7 ULV chipset can be found in the U2442V model.
Both gadgets boast of an Nvidia GeForce GT 640M GPU with 2GB VRAM to support gaming and multimedia requirements. They also show off features like Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, Wi-Fi and others. For storage purposes, users will have an option of choosing either an SSD or HDD with up to 750GB memory capacity.
Another device introduced by this manufacturer at the aforementioned ongoing tech event is the S1081 business slate. To accompany the tablet, a multimedia docking station titled D1080 has also been released. Equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, the tab operates on the Windows 7 OS and is powered by a 1.86GHz Intel Atom N2800 CPU. Other attributes of this handheld device include a 1.3MP camera, 500GB HDD, USB port, Bluetooth connectivity and more.
The Gigabyte U2442N and U2442V Ultrabooks release date and price specifications are not known yet. Furthermore, availability and price details of the S1081 business slate as well as the D1080 docking station have also been kept under wraps.
