New Acer Aspire Timeline series notebooks with Intel ULV platform

Earlier in the day we had reported about Acer announcing that it was working with Intel to release its superior Aspire Timeline series notebooks in India. Here are a few more details about the features and functions of these striking notebooks. The portfolio offered includes the 13.3” Aspire 3810 T, the 14” Aspire 4810 T and the 15.6” Aspire 5810 T.
The highlight of the Acer Aspire Timeline series notebooks is their light weight form factor that does not compromise on the battery life. This range of featherweight notebooks has been designed to offer users ‘all-day’ computing on a single charge.
“The Aspire Timeline series have been specifically designed for longer battery life, not by using a bulkier and heavier battery, but redesigning the way power is used”, remarked Mr W S Mukund, Managing Director, Acer India. “Making the system more efficient, lighter and less harmful to the environment and capable of providing the consumer the bliss of more than eight hours of battery life on a single charge at mainstream price points, a very compelling proposition in these times”.
“The minimalistic look of the Aspire Timelines conceals a wealth of details designed to give you easy control over frequent operations. Touch sensitive hot keys have been integrated on the top to put feature such ad WiFi, Backup and Power Smart key right at your fingertips. For easier usage, also the ODD eject button (for 14” and 15.6”) has been placed on the top,” added Mr S Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India at the launch of the Timeline series Notebooks.
Saving energy even when utilizing the power adapter, the range features the Acer Power Smart adapter which allows the notebooks to consume up to 66% less energy than required by Energy Star. The Power Smart adapter also has the ability to automatically get into the adaptive charging mode once the battery is fully charged. This feature not only stops the consumption of energy but it also lowers the wear and tear on the battery.
Sporting a glossy FineTip keyboard, the devices have much larger and spaced-out keys that enhance the typing experience. The distinct touchpad boasts of a lock that should prevent users from mis-touch while typing. There’s also a touchpad button that has a step design that makes it easier to find it. Besides offering comfortable navigation, the multi-gesture touchpad allows users to work with a circular clockwise or counterclockwise finger motion. This makes navigation of web pages, files, music playlists or photos effortless. Users can also pinch to zoom in or out of various applications.
The notebooks are packed with the Acer CineCrystal LED backlit display that has a true aspect ratio of 16:9, an HD resolution of 1366 x 768 and a fast response time. With high brightness, the screen also offers high-quality media playback and is coupled with the Dolby Sound Room technology that delivers surround sound for an advanced audio experience.
These devices include the integrated Wi-Fi/WiMAX that is enabled for Acer SignalUp and an optional choice of embedded 3G modules. They are also equipped with the Acer Crystal Eye webcam which works well even in low light environments and supports the Acer PrimaLite technology. Fuelled by the latest Intel Core solo processor ULV solutions, users can choose from shared or dedicated VGA. With a DD3 system memory, the laptops include up to 500GB HDD and support for up to 64GB of SSD. Users can also take complete advantage of the Acer Backup Solution that combines the Acer Backup Manager and the Easy Launch Back up key.
The Aspire 3810 T, the Aspire 4810 T and the Aspire 5810 T notebooks are priced at Rs 39,999, Rs 42,999 and Rs 44,999 respectively excluding taxes.
