Dell Inspiron 1525 with Blu-ray Disc Playback carries sub-$1000 Price Tag

Dell Inspiron 1525

Dell has announced that its Inspiron 1525 laptop with an optional Blu-ray disc player will now carry a price tag of under $1000. According to Dell, since the format war has come to an end with Blu-ray emerging as the victor, this Blu-ray laptop will be available at a cheaper rate with prices beginning at just $879.

The Dell Inspiron 1526 laptop sports a 15.4-inch high definition wide aspect display with 720p resolution. Further, it also includes an HDMI port for easy connectivity to high resolution displays and HDTVs.

Interestingly, the embedded Blu-ray player disc drive is fully backward compatible, allowing users to play as well as burn DVDs and CDs. Consuemrs could also go in for a Blu-ray burner drive which is perfect for backing up and storing vital files including digital photos, videos and other data.

The Inspiron 1525 laptops with Blu-ray disc drives incorporate Broadcom media PC technology which allows PCs with integrated graphics to play high definition videos, which is enabled via the laptop’s buil-in dedicated accelerator located in a mini-card slot.

Furthermore, just like all of Dell’s laptops, the Inspiron too features Dell’s MediaDirect technology which offers a one touch access to media files, whether the system is powered off or in hibernate.

Optional accessories include a slim travel power adaptor for $80, Dell travel remote control ($22) which can be housed in the Laptop’s ExpressCard slot and Creative noise isolation earphones for $25.

The Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop is available in interesting designs such as Chill, Commotion and Blossom as well as in a range of vibrant colors like Midnight Blue, Sunshine Yellow and Ruby Red. It is immediately available in the US, Canada and Europe.
