LG Responds to Battery Explosion Issue by Discontinuing the Sales of Laptop
Recently LG laptops were in news because of the blast that occurred due to the malfunction of a battery. The explosion was strong enough to destroy the laptop. And it was suspected to have occurred due to an external shock under an extremely high temperature. Luckily no injuries were reported.
Considering the issue seriously, LG has decided to stop the sale of that particular laptop. LG’s spokesperson Jik Soo Kim said that the exploded battery was manufactured by LG Chem, who is now investigating on the issue.
Further Kim also said the model was a country-centric one and was available only in South Korea. Also he mentioned that the model is no loner produced.
However as of now LG has not announced any recall of the batteries, but has simply stopped the sales of laptop model, which affected.
