New MackBook Air and MacBook Pro

Redefine its family of notebooks, as it says, Apple has unveiled its all new MacBooks that include the upgraded MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.

Their highlights are the all-metal enclosure and pro-performance notebook graphics. The body enclosure of the new notebooks has been built from single-block of aluminum for slimmer and long lasting design. However, there are two-models for each of the upgraded Macs which include a Mac with plastic body and Mac with aluminum body.

The performance graphics it talks about are powered by the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 3D integrated graphics processor with 16 parallel processing cores for 5 times more the 3D graphics performance. Also there are the instant-on LED-backlit displays.

Also featuring is new large glass Multi-Touch trackpads providing 40 percent more tracking area than the earlier ones.

The new line of MacBooks also comes with green features like the PVC-free internal cables and components, abiding the RoHS environmental standards and Energy Star 4.0, arsenic-free glass and others.

The 15 inch MacBook Pro comes with the thickness of 0.95 inches weighing at 5.5 pounds, priced at $1,999; equipped with Intel Core 2 Duo processors running at 2.8 GHz NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics processor, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT discrete graphics processor and comes in two models - 2.4 GHz model with a 250GB 5400 rpm hard drive and a 2.53 GHz model with a 320GB 5400 rpm hard drive.

The MacBook Air and 17-inch MacBook Pro are next in the line up with MacBook Air coming in the slimmest form of 0.16 inches with the height of 0.76 inches. It also comes equipped with new NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics, 120GB 4200 rpm hard drive and starts at $1,799. The upgraded 17 inch MacBook Pro comes with the original aluminum design and standard 1920 x 1200 LED-backlit display but what is new in is the large 320GB hard drive and the option of 128 GB SSD.

Also included in the MacBook Air and 15 inch MacBook Pro are Mini DisplayPort for connecting with new Apple LED Cinema Display. All the newly upgraded Macs offer iLife, with iPhoto, updated iMovie, MobileMe.

The 13 inch white MacBook features 2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors, a 120GB 5400 rpm hard drive and a slot-load 8X SuperDrive and is available for $999 in US.
