Laptop Thief A built-in camera of a laptop can not only allow you to communicate with your friends but also enables to catch thieves. With the help of the webcam and anti-theft application a White Plains woman named Kait Duplaga solved the case of her stolen laptop.

Kait Duplaga had lost her laptop along with other expensive technology products such as flat-screen televisions, two iPods, gaming consoles, DVDs and computer games etc last month during a robbery at her place.

Few days later, victim’s friend saw Duplaga’s computer online and alerted her regarding the same. Duplaga signed into another computer to find out more about her stolen laptop. When she realized that her laptop was yet online, by using the Back to My Mac program, the victim enabled the camera of the laptop remotely.

Through this smart move, she could grab the laptop user’s as well as the thief’s images. After showing these images to her roommates, Duplaga realized that they were Edmon Shahikian and Ian Frias, who were her roommate’s friends. The photographs were then handed over to the police and culprits were soon to be arrested.

This is the motivational story for being alerted of the situation and to act astutely with the help of the technology.
