Latitude ATG D620 (All-Terrain Grade) Rugged Notebook launched by Dell

On January 16, Dell launched its first semi-rugged notebook computer called the Latitude ATG D620 (All-Terrain Grade). Meeting military standards for vibration, humidity and altitude, the Dell Latitude ATG D620 notebook is meant for customers who work in tough environments, and has thus been designed to protect against accidental bumps, moisture and many other elements that people face while working outdoors.
The Dell Latitude ATG D620 notebook features a shock-mounted drive, spill-resistant keyboard, port covers and high durability paint. The Latitude All-Terrain Grade D620 notebook has been designed to handle challenging conditions that are commonly associated with military environments, construction sites and first responders like police and emergency organizations.
Featuring a 14.1-inch display with ambient light sensor (ALS), glass overlay and anti-reflective coating, the LCD display of the Dell Latitude ATG D620 notebook is one and a half times brighter than most mainstream corporate notebooks. And this surely makes it easy to view in extreme sunlight. In fact, sunlight may be a major factor with customers who work in the military, emergency preparedness, construction and even in the golf industry, who say that seeing the display in full daylight is a very important factor in their notebook computing experience.
In fact, TaylorMade Golf, who is an existing Dell customer, has chosen Dell’s Latitude ATG D620 notebook to help custom-fit golfers with clubs using its exclusive motion analysis technology (MATT-i). Through notebook computers, TaylorMade can analyze golf swings in the outdoors, by calculating the angle and speed they produce. Because of its rugged design and bright screen, TaylorMade has chosen the Latitude ATG D620 notebook.
Here is another testimonial from F.T Eyre, a photographer with a Navy reserve unit in Iraq, who used an older generation of the Dell Latitude notebook to organize many of his digital photos. Eyre says that with extremely sandy and hot conditions, his notebook constantly tested the limits. “Given the fact that the older Latitude C610 performed better than any of the other notebooks on assignment, I can only imagine how well the new Dell Latitude ATG will perform in similar conditions,” Eyre said. “I’m excited to use the Latitude ATG in my next assignment wherever it takes me.”
