Aspire 3680 Series Notebooks launched by Acer India at exceedingly Low Prices

Acer India has launched its Aspire 3680 series Notebook in the Indian market. According to Acer, the 3680 series comprises the lowest priced notebooks, and has thus been targeted at empowering the common man with computing technology at an affordable price.
S.Rajendran, GM- Sales and Marketing, Acer India said, “The Acer Aspire 3680 series has all the specifications required to improve productivity of people working on the move and encourage them to graduate to notebooks from desktops. Acer is the first MNC to offer a fully loaded machine at this price point. With the Acer Aspire 3680 series, we have once again broken all barriers without compromising on features, a first in the industry.”
The Acer Aspire 3680 series of notebooks runs on a Celeron M 430 (1.73GHz) or above, delivering increased power and excellent performance.
Most importantly, the Acer 3680 notebooks will be available in India at Rs.19,999 (excluding cash and taxes). According to Acer, the great price is being offered via a special limited period cash back offer of Rs.2500. This offer runs through June 25, 2007 or till stocks last.

This is really good to see a laptop at such a low price.
Iam using aspire series from last two years.
currently i want a laptop upto with following features:
512 MB ram extendable in future,
80 to 120 GB RAM
Dual core or Core 2 Duo processer
Kindly suggest me some acer model with accessories and prices.

I have the acer aspire 3680-2633 notebook. By the features and price I felt that this was a great deal for a laptop computer. 80GB HD, TFT display (wide screen) CDR/dvd rom drive…..etc. The computer came with windows vista basic.
Well I have to say the truth. I got a lemon. after about 3 weeks The cd/dvd drive quit working. Programs running off the vista format started to freeze and I was constantly having to restart the aspire 3680. After these problems began to show up, I started to have problems with the wireless networking not working correctly.
I took my computer back to the vendor I purchased it from to have my less than a month old new laptop repaired. The day I took it in for service the power input socket on the 3680 burned out.
After 3 weeks of service @ Acer, my computer was returned to me. Look at what was wrong!! 1) They said that the mother board had to be replaced. 2) The cd-r/dvd drive had to be replaced. 3) the entire keyboard had to be replaced. 4) And last but not least, the power socket on the side of the laptop also had to be replaced.
Maybe I am just that one person who got a poorly built acer aspire 3680-2633 laptop computer, but I cannot say that this is a good computer or even a good deal. I kinda feel like that ol saying; “you get what you pay for”; well I didn’t even get that.
From the moment I got the repairs done on this laptop til today, I still have quite a few Windows Vista operating system issues. I have many driver issues for my hardware, and my dvd drive won’t play cd’s or dvd’s.
My suggestion would be not to purchase this particular model acer aspire 3680-2633. If you already have this computer and you don’t have these problems with your laptop…..then you are luckier than I.
Acer does make good computers, just not this one I have.

yea well i agree with mallet the 3680 series is crap and nothing but problems here
