The Stylish VAIO N Series Notebook for the Home announced by Sony
On Wednesday, Sony unveiled VAIO N Series, the latest line-up of sleek and stylish notebooks. The notebooks are built around a 15.4″ XBRITE-ECO WXGA screen and are compatible with Windows Vista. Some models are also labeled as being Windows Vista Premium ready.
Now what makes this series interesting is the fact that they feature the older Yonah-based Core Duo and Core Solo processors, instead of the Core 2 Duo Processors.
Other features include integrated Intel graphics, a mult-DVD burner, two USB 2.0 ports, an ExpressCard slot, i.LINK, MemoryStick/Secure Digital media slot, and 10/100 LAN, 802.11a/b/g connectivity. The VAIO N Series notebooks will be available in three colors at launch: Black, White and Wenge Brown.
Mike Abary, vice president of VAIO product marketing for Sony Electronics said that the N series was designed for the “culturally creative” individual who is focused on an “organic lifestyle.”
“From the furniture you sit on to the artwork you hang on your walls, you coordinate every aspect of your home’s style, so why hide your PC?” Mike Abary said. “These new notebooks are designed to accent your interior design, as well as your life.”
The VAIO N Series will be available in October from select Sony retailers and SonyStyle.com at a starting price of $1,000.
