Apple has announced to expand the capacity of the iPod Shuffle to up to 2GB. The new extended edition of the iPod Shuffle can hold up to 500 songs.

Also Apple has reduced the price of the 1GB iPod Shuffle to $49. While, the 2GB iPod Shuffle will now be available for $69.

“At just $49, the iPod shuffle is the most affordable iPod ever,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of worldwide iPod Product Marketing. “The new 2GB model lets music lovers bring even more songs everywhere they go in the impossibly small iPod shuffle.”

The iPod Shuffle was first introduced in 2005, however next year Apple refreshed it to a smaller size.

The 2GB iPod Shuffle 2GB will take another fortnight to hit the Apple stores. However, 1GB iPod Shuffle is available right away at $49. The tiny music player from Apple will be available in exciting five exciting colors namely silver, blue, green, purple and a RED (special edition).
