Credit for iPod Owners As a result of a lawsuit settlement, Apple Canada has agreed to offer a $45 credit on the iPods purchased before June 2004. The lawsuit claimed that the iPod batteries were giving lesser lifetime than what was advertised by Apple.

Apple had advertised an eight hours of lifespan of the batteries while they actually ended up lasting for three hours only.

First-, second-, and third-generation iPod owners who have bought their devices before 24 June, 2004 are eligible to be credited $45. Through which Apple is expected to credit around $3.54 million in Apple store to up to 80,000 owners.

The settlement has not been finalized as now.

Also another Apple iPod related lawsuit is pending in the Canadian court. A Montreal-based law student has sued the iPod maker for delivering lesser storage capacity. The lawsuit claims that the 8GB iPod Nano holds only 7.45GB storage.
