Apple 2nd Generation iPod Shuffle

Towards the end of last week, at yet another Apple event, the company revealed several highly anticipated services and products. The new iPod Shuffle was one of them. In fact, Steve Jobs’ intentions of having iPod users get an updated player every year was still ringing true.

True to his word, Steve Jobs introduced the world’s smallest music player to date, the 2nd generation iPod Shuffle. The new iPod Shuffle is designed from the ground up with a clip design and 1GB of storage. This makes the device portable, sturdy and easy to carry around.

The exterior of the iPod Shuffle is made from aluminum, and has a solid body in comparison with the original iPod Shuffle. The front of the iPod Shuffle has the necessary controls and the headphones jack at the top of the device. A notable aspect of the clip design is that the clip covers the device’s back entirely, thus, securing it to the source.

Besides, the earphones of the new iPod Shuffle have been upgraded to a sleeker version. The Apple iPod Shuffle offers 12 hours of battery and an included charger to quickly recharge the lithium-ion battery.

iPod Shuffle supports MP3, AAC, Protected AAC, Audible, WAV and AFIF audio formats from 20Hz to 20,000Hz frequencies. We cannot help but mention that one will also get skip-free playback using the new iPod Shuffle.

Apple’s 2nd generation iPod shuffle is available for pre-order immediately for $79. In fact, Apple has already begun shipping its 2nd-generation iPod Shuffle to all customers who placed a pre-order, with a delivery date of November 3rd, 2006.
