8GB Red iPod Nano to be added to iPod Line by Apple

Red iPod Nano Apple Computer Inc. has announced that it is adding a red 8GB version of its tiny iPod Nano to its already popular line of digital music players. Apple said that it would donate money to charity for every player it sells.

Apple unveiled the 8GB model of its special edition iPod Nano, which will be sold in support of U2 lead singer Bono’s RED campaign to fight AIDS.

The new model of the iPod Nano RED Special Edition can hold up to 2,000 songs, and will cost $249. Currently, Apple’s 4GB iPod Nano, which has already hit the market, is being sold for $199.

Both the 4GB and 8GB red iPod Nanos come in a red aluminum case and feature 24 hours of battery life.

Apple contributes $10 from the sale of each product to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS in Africa.

“Customer response to the iPod Nano (Product) RED Special Edition has been off the charts,” Greg Joswiak, vice president of iPod product marketing, said in a statement.
