Bob Dylan In an online ad, Apple Computers has featured American folk and rock legend Bob Dylan, where he is gazing in a spot for Apple’s iPod that cross-promotes his new album, ‘Modern Times’. Bob Dylan’s association with the Big Apple is not new. Around a fortnight ago, Dylan had teamed up with Apple’s iTunes to offer sets and tickets to his fans.

Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO had spoken about this deal a few days ago, “Bob Dylan is one of the most respected poets and musicians of our time, and he is a personal hero of mine. Being able to offer his new album and the exclusive box set of his works on iTunes is a real thrill for us.”

Modern Times is Bob’s first album in as many as five years.

The ad has been developed by TBWA\Chiat\Day and has Bob performing the single ‘Someday Baby’. It has all the usual elements of a typical Apple ad and looks incredible.

Bob’s latest album is also being promoted on the Apple iTunes digital music store. Interested users can go on and buy this latest album from the store.

Bob Dylan also has other products available online on Apple iTunes. The deal with Apple also includes a Bob Dylan digital box set, called ‘The Collection’. It features all of Dylan’s albums almost 800 tracks in total and can be downloaded in the US for $199.

Dylan, whose fans once were once up in arms when he started playing an electric guitar, has well and truly embraced the age of digital music.

The spot can be viewed online at the Apple site, on a page that also has a link to where people can buy Modern Times and the full range of iPods.
