Google Realtime Search gets dedicated page, enhanced tools

Google Realtime Google had put forth the real-time search feature last year in December to offer the freshest news to users. Now, taking it forward, the official Google blog discloses a dedicated web page and an improved tool set.

The Google Realtime Search can be accessed at google.com/realtime soon. Moreover, the new homepage also exhibits some new tools for refined results. It offers geographic refinements which helps search updates and news in regions that users’ specify. “So if you’re traveling to Los Angeles this summer, you can check out tweets from Angelenos to get ideas for activities happening right where you are,” says the blog.

The Google team has also worked towards a simplified conversation view to ensure that users aren’t lost in the entangled forest of tweets. Yes! the included ‘full conversation’ feature allows users to follow discussion on the real-time web, and browse the entire conversation at a glance. This puts an end to the hassle of clicking a bunch of links to figure out the discussion all by oneself.

Further, the inclusion of Google Alerts keeps users informed about the topic they choose. Users can create alert for specific topics. They will be informed via email as soon as their preferred topic hits Twitter or other short-form services.

Realtime Search can be accessed through google.com/realtime from the browser or by clicking the ‘Updates’ link in search results. Realtime Search as well as updates in Google Alerts is made available in 40 languages across the globe while geographic refinements and conversations views are available in English, Japanese, Russian and Spanish.
