Mozilla Firefox is becoming increasingly popular now. 500 Millions downloads is the proof of its popularity. Mozilla has announced that Firefox has reached the landmark of 500 million downloads in a span of three years.

Firefox, the open source web browser was launched in November 2004.

For celebrating this success, Mozilla has announced that it will choose a different path. The company has said that it plans to donate 500,000,000 grains of rice in one day to help feed the world’s poor.

Mozilla further says that such a huge amount of rice can feed around 25,000 poor people for a single day.

Firefox has also asked its users to contribute in their mission of collecting 500 million grains of rice. Users can donate rice here.
