Stolen US Defense Equipments sold on eBay and Craigslist
A report released by the U.S. Government Accountability Office says that many military equipments which were stolen, are being sold on eBay and Craigslist.
The report further said that investigators managed to purchase a dozen of military items from both these online shopping sites from January 2007 to March 2008.
Such items include two F-14 fighter jet components, special night vision goggles, a used Nuclear Biological Chemical protective suit as a enhanced body armor used by U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan etc.
The report further stated: “A review of policies and procedures for these Web sites determined that there are few safeguards to prevent the sale of sensitive and stolen defense-related items using the sites.”
However, eBay and Craigslist have not commented on the whole issue as of now.
