YouTube is UK’s Most Popular Website
A new research conducted by Nielsen Online suggests that YouTube is the most popular site in UK. Google’s YouTube got nearly 66.2 million unique viewers during the month of January and about 2.6 billion clips were streamed.
In this list Wikipedia and Facebook are at the second and third position respectively. Wikipedia, the informatory encyclopedia was earlier at first position for year 2007, however YouTube’s popularity pushed Wikipedia at the number two position.
Facebook, the social networking site is also booming in UK. It was at the 18th rank last year. Facebook is the only site that has covered the huge distance from 18th to 3rd spot.
Though MySpace has managed to keep itself in the top ten list, it has lost its popularity by 9%, suggests the study.
Other popular websites amongst UK internet savvies are Blogger, Yahoo Answers, Slide and TripAdvisor.
