SiteAdvisor Security

Yahoo and McAfee have introduced a new technology named SiteAdvisor to its search engine. The new technology warns users about viruses, spyware and spam hosted by the link they are about to click.

McAfee will display a red exclamation point and warning next to links found harmful by the security company.

Moreover, Yahoo claims that it completely aborts dangerous websites to be opened up on the users’ screens during its search.

“Yahoo users have clearly told us that among the most important concerns for them are all these lurking threats on the Internet. They know the damage they can do but they don’t know how to protect themselves,” said Priyank Garg, Director of Product Management for Yahoo’s Search Division.

This means Yahoo search users can now be a little relaxed while searching and downloading.
