Google Adwords logo Internet giant Google has announced that it is now offering a wider range of payment options for its AdWords advertising program in India. The new options include payment by cheque, demand draft and net banking.

When creating a Google AdWords account, advertisers in India can chose from the above mentioned methods of payment for added flexibility and convenience.

According to Shailesh Rao, Managing Director, Google India, “Google is committed to improving the user experience for its advertisers the world over. India is a very strategic market and feedback from Indian advertisers has been an important component in making AdWords more useful for the Indian market.”

“We hope that more Indian advertisers will be able to grow their business through AdWords by recognizing that Indian businesses prefer to conduct transactions not only by credit cards but also by cheque and electronic funds transfer. With this fuller set of options in place more Indian businesses will be able to use AdWords to expand their reach, profitability and exposure online,” Rao explained.

The newly introduced forms of payment bring a whole new dimension to online advertising and e-commerce in India. It will be of much use to Indian advertisers, especially those from small and medium sized enterprises, who may not own a credit card.

When making a payment, the advertiser just has to mail their cheque or demand draft to the Citibank office in Mumbai.

The third method of payment- net banking- is the electronic transfer of funds from a user’s bank account to their AdWords account. This can be done from Google’s web site itself, offering advertisers a seamless and secure method in real-time that too!
