MySpace to launch News Feed feature in the near future
Social networking site MySpace plans to launch news feeds in the next 30 to 45 days. This announcement was made by Fox Interactive Media President Peter Levinsohn yesterday.
News feeds alert a user to what their friends are colleagues are up to. This feature happens to be one of the most popular ones with rival social network site Facebook. In fact, when one thinks of news feeds, Facebook seems to be the only one that comes to mind.
“The concept of a news feed is something we are very focused on, we’ll be well down the path in the next 30 to 45 days,” confirmed Levinsoh.
He also added that MySpace plans to let users express different versions of themselves by creating more than one profile. In case you think they are encouraging people to have multiple personalities, then think again because this feature could be really useful. For instance, a user could have one profile for his family, one for friends and yet another for work.
The new feature will let you “express yourself in all those different segments,” said Levinsohn.
However, something that must be known to all is that MySpace is still the leading US social networking market when it comes to overall membership and traffic. But, in recent times, the site has come under public scrutiny for everything ranging from design to usability to the architecture.
