MySpace en Español Logo Yesterday, the world’s most popular online social networking portal, MySpace.com announced the beta launch of a new Spanish-language version, MySpace en Español. This announcement was made at the Billboard Latin American Music Conference.

Also revealed at this event was a new pan-regional Web site in Spanish for Latin American residents and further development plans for localized communities in Mexico and Brazil.

The new MySpace en Español Website will comprise Latino content, programming, artists and users relevant to the US Hispanic MySpace population. The site will also spotlight a Spanish language version of the MySpace Instant Messaging client.

According to Travis Katz, Senior Vice President and General Manager of MySpace International, “We’re moving rapidly to build communities that reflect and respect the lifestyles of our diverse members. MySpace en Español opens the community even wider, giving our Hispanic members the choice to share their experiences, connect with family members, and plan their social lives in either Spanish or English. We look forward to getting their feedback as we build out these new cultural communities.”

MySpace already has localized versions for Britain, Japan, Germany, France, Australia, Ireland, and the US. Currently, MySpace is beta testing localized versions for Italy, Spain, New Zealand, Canada and Mexico.
