John Lennon Solo Works make their DRM-free debut on Apple iTunes
A legend in the form of John Lennon is gracing Apple’s iTunes digital music store. The late John Lennon of the Beatles fame was known for his pro-peace music and artistic ways.
Lennon’s solo catalog comprises 16 albums, all of which will be available via Itunes. Also available are the “Lennon Legend” and “Acoustic” collections.
In a statement by Apple, John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono expressed her joy saying that John would have loved the fact that his music will now be available in a format suited to a whole new generation of listeners.

This happens to be a first for Apple as John Lennon’s tunes are for the first time made available on iTunes.
What is more interesting to know is that the John Lennon tracks will be offered DRM-free as part of EMI Music’s digital catalog, along with high quality 256Kbps AAC encoding.
The DRM-freealbums are priced at $1.29 per song on iTunes, while the regular versions are available alongside priced at 99 cents each, the usual rate at which Apple sells its tunes.
In addition to the audio albums, iTunes is also offering exclusive video content including John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, Sometime in New York City, Walls and Bridges, Milk and Honey, the Collections Anthology, and Working Class Hero for a limited 30-day period.
