Now, watch YouTube Videos on Google Earth
Google has announced that Google Earth users will now be able to watch YouTube videos from a zoomed in location on the map. For this purpose, a YouTube layer will be available in the Features Content folder of Google Earth.
Both Google Earth and YouTube are wholly owned by Google. Basically, the new layer enables users to zoom in on any location on planet earth and view YouTube videos related to that place.
For instance, when viewing Maui on Google Earth users will be able to view YouTube videos of surfing, snorkeling and exotic sea life.
The integration of YouTube functionality into Google Earth offers a new way to experience destinations as see through the eyes of YouTube users who have visited such places.
This also enables people to watch, hear and feel what’s happening in locations they may never have otherwise visited.
Here is how it works:
Users should download the newest Google Earth client, if they have not yet done so. Once in Google Earth, they should open the “Featured Content” folder on the left hand side of the screen and click “YouTube”. Once clicked, icons of the YouTube logo will be visible on the globe.
Moreover, Google Earth users will be also be able to learn more about the YouTube user who uploaded the video or to view more of their vide content by clicking on the username.
