Rediff iLand Blogging Platform adds support for Eight Indian Languages
Rediff iLand, an online community portal in India has announced the addition of eight new Indian languages to its blogging and social networking platform known as Rediff iLand.
The new languages added to Rediff iLand are Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telgu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali and Gujarati.
The addition of these new languages will enable Indian users to express their opinions and views in their language of choice. This initiative will empower the common man to express his vies and opinions freely, doing away with the language barrier.
Rediff iLand users will need to use an ordinary QWERTY keyboard on which they would have to type in English alphabets to input words in other languages easily on the basis of phonetics.
The Indian blogging community is a thriving one which is mostly dominated by English blogs. Fortunately, due to the growing awareness and increasing adoption of the Internet a large number of Indians are expected to explore the concept of blogging.
Manish Agarwal, vice president Marketing Rediff.com commented on this initiative saying, “Rediff wishes to provide every Indian with a right to express his views in the language he or she is most comfortable in and participate in forming a community bonded by common point of views and opinions online.”
“Indians reading blogs frequently are increasing at fast pace and removal of language barrier will further hasten the growth of blogging in India and on Rediff iLand,” he further added.
The addition of eight new Indian languages to Rediff iLand is also expected to open up and bring in a new set of Internet users who will actively participate in forming a vibrant and active community online.
