MySpace hits 10 Million Monthly Mark making it UK’s most popular Social Platform

There’s Orkut, Bebo, Facebook, the lesser-known Hi 5 and then there’s MySpace. Yes, MySpace has raced ahead of its contenders in the social networking platform race and has apparently emerged a winner.
According to BBC News, MySpace said that it now has over 10 million users visit its Web site monthly in the UK itself. This alone makes MySpace the most popular social networking site in the UK.
A page dedicated to Project RED, which is a global charity fund to fight AIDS and launched by U2 front man Bono, happens to be the most popular page. It already has 6,27,000 registered users.
Independent monitoring from Nilesen/Net Rating revealed that MySpace had received 6.5 million unique visits in the UK in May 2007.
But, Nielson also said that rival Bebo secured 3.96 unique visits in the same month, while Facebook had 3.2 million unique visits.
Thus, the gap between MySpace and its rivals is still quite substantial.
According to Jamie Kantroqitx, senior vice president marketi9ng and content, MySpace Europe, “The fact the UK’s top three MySpace profiles are a charitable campaign, a major pop group and an indie rock band shows the diversity of the MySpace community.”
