Ask.com Logo Some time ago, we had reported about AskEraser, a privacy control tool by Ask.com, a popular search engine. Now, this ttol will soon launched and will offer users unmatched control over their privacy when searching for information on the Web.

This simply means that AskEraser will ensure that the users’ search history will not be retained by Ask.com. In fact, searchers’ privacy settings will clearly indicate on the search result page that will let users know that AskEraser status is on.

“AskEraser is a great solution for those looking for an additional level of privacy when they search online. Anonymous user data can be very useful to enhance search products for all users, and we’re committed to being open and transparent about how such information is used,” stated Jim Lanzone, CEO of Ask.com.

“But we also understand that there are some who are interested in new tools that will help protect their privacy further, and we will give them that control on Ask.com,” he added.

With the launch of new feature, Ask.com has become the first search engine to offer the control to prevent retention of their search history to its users.

AskEraser is expected to be deployed in Ask.com in the U.S. and U.K. by the end of this year. Searchers located at other parts of the world can take advantage of AskEraser from early next year.
