Microsoft India has announced to unveil a new email domain named live.in for Indians. Microsoft has introduced this service globally with country specific suffixes. Now these new domains will be default domain address when users sign up for Windows Live or individual services like Windows Live Hotmail or Windows Live Messenger.

“The new Live.in domain will give customers the chance to get a new name with a domain address more clearly associated with the new suite of Windows Live services,” commented Samir Saraiya, Product Head, Windows Live Services. “The Live.in id also opens up a whole new set of possible names so customers have a new opportunity to sign up for an ID name they really want.”

Users can access their email accounts via the internet, on a mobile phone or with an email client. Also it offers huge storage limit of 5GB.

Though the new email domain has been introduced, the old one i.e. hotmail is not discontinued. New users can opt for live.in or hotmail.com, whichever they prefer.
