Educomp Solutions, an e-learning solutions provider has launched a new online learning initiative called ‘MathGuru.com’. Educomp Solutions says that MathGuru.com is a very innovative approach to mathematics, which has been designed to help students solve problems based on their text books and syllabus, on an anytime-anywhere basis.

The program aims at making a dull subject like mathematics into a whole lot of fun for millions of students in schools across the country. Mathguru.com has been specially designed for students from class VI to class XII. The Math-help program hopes to bring about a shift in the learning process, i.e. from a very passive instructive experience, to one that is explorative and available on demand.

Speaking about the initiative, Shantanu Prakash, managing director, Educomp Solutions, said that high student-teacher ratio, limited problem-solving at schools, plus even more limited homework assistance from parents at home, are amongst the chief reasons that have motivated Educomp to develop Mathguru.

Abhinav Dhar, senior vice president, Educomp Solutions, said that Mathguru is all about independent learning. The Web site is designed to help students complete their math homework, practice and revise anytime, with a click of the mouse. Dhar said that Mathguru’s colorful method of explaining solutions might result in obviating to a large extent, the need to resort to tuitions for the child.

Educomp Solutions says that the math-help program will help students understand fundamental concept, rather than merely providing solutions to questions. A first-of-its-kind program, Mathguru aims at providing help to students, when they need it the most. The program can be accessed basis a subscription of Rs 1,200 that is valid for one academic year.
