Just recently Guba signed deals with Warner Bros and Sony Pictures to offer television shows and movies through the site. Now the social video download site announced that users can begin to download a TV show episode for merely US$ 0.49 instead of the existing US$1.79 for downloads of the same show on other digital video stores. Guba users can also rent a feature film for just US$0.99 or Guba logo perhaps purchase a newly released Warner Brothers and Sony Pictures movies for US$9.99, on the same day as the DVD release, all of which are half the price of what others are offering at the moment.

This step of Guba is regarded as a price war of sorts, for downloading TV shows and movies, to entice more users.

However, none of the video downloads on Guba can be burned to DVD, and downloads can be viewed only on a PC or Windows Media Player devices. Further on, according to industry experts it is highly unlikely these ultra low prices will sustain.
