YouTube logo The Police in Wales have arrested a man after he posted a video of an attack, which has apparently been shot for fun on the renowned video-sharing website YouTube.

The 19-second clip, recorded on a mobile phone camera, shows a grinning youth ripping the glasses off a charity worker in a street of Wrexham, north Wales, and then running away while his friends roar with laughter.

The clip was posted on Tuesday by “wxmboys”, titled “Wild specs robbery” and captioned: “*** up bald lad steals randomers specs in street! Absolutely WILD!!!”

North Wales Police confirmed that a spectacles theft was reported in the town on Saturday.

They viewed the footage, which clearly shows the alleged perpetrator’s face, and collared their prime suspect.

A force spokeswoman commented on Friday that, “We have arrested an 18-year-old man from Wrexham on suspicion of theft. The investigation is ongoing.”

Visitors to the YouTube site are able to leave their comments on clips posted on the site.

Among those left Friday included: “brilliant isnt it, one of them’s been arrested today hahaha”; “you guys think you are so clever. What goes around comes around” and “You’re nicked son! Gutted!”
