Google News Service Is Now Out Of Beta

Google news logo Google Inc. announced that it has taken its online news service out of beta. Google has also added a new feature which automatically recommends news stories to users of its personalized search service.

Google News offers email alerts configured by users and lets them create a personalized page. Google said that it will offer the ability to view and manage their history of news searches and the articles read, to its personalized search subscribers.

When a user logs in to his Google Account and visits the Google News page the user will be shown recommended news stories based on his previously read stories.

The news headline recommendations will be highlighted just below the top news stories on the page. The suggested stories are chosen automatically, using Google’s algorithms.

Google news subscribers will also see a section showing the most popular stories on Google News.
